For BIPOC artists over the age of 30 pursuing a career in filmmaking.
The Millennial X Filmmaking Program is a six-week program designed to mentor and train BIPOC creatives who are over the age of 30 and working towards a career in filmmaking but don’t have access to screenwriting software or filmmaking equipment needed to accelerate their career. Creatives will participate in screenwriting and production workshops in order to bring a proof of concept to life.
The program runs from October 4 to November 10 every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Only participants that can commit to the in-person classes will be selected. Participants who miss a class will be dropped from the program.
Creatives who are Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis), racialized people, people with disabilities, newcomers to Canada, and/or 2SLGBTQIA+ are highly encouraged to apply. If you have any questions, please contact us at millennialx.io@gmail.com.
This program will take place at Brampton Library's Chinguacousy branch and it is offered in partnership with CBC, New Brunswick Black Artist Alliance, Kingsbrae International Residence for the Arts (KIRA), and Go For Yours Organization.
