Sex traffickers do not see religion, colour, culture, faith, wealth, or education. Who do they target and what do they look like? How can you prepare your sons and daughters?

Did you know:

  • Canadian young people are extremely vulnerable to becoming victims of trafficking averaging 13 (grade 7) to 21 years in age
  • Police-reported incidents of human-trafficking show:
    • 96% of victims are women and girls
    • 25% of victims are girls under the age of 18
    • 45% are women aged 18 to 24
  • The final report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls highlights the connection between trafficking for sexual exploitation and violence against Indigenous women and girls. The combination of social and economic issues resulting from colonialism make Indigenous women and girls more at risk of human trafficking.

A guest speaker from Peel Regional Police will share the information.

If you are unable to join the session virtually, we will also be streaming the event in-person at our Chinguacousy branch.
