Teen Raspberry Pi Jam
Wednesday, August 24
10:00am - 3:00pm
Learn about digital making with the Raspberry Pi in this two-day workshop.
A Raspberry Pi Jam is a community event where people come together to learn about digital making with the Raspberry Pi—a versatile, credit card-sized computer. Whether or not you have coding experience, join us at this youth-focused, two-day event where we’ll learn how to program a Raspberry Pi, try out some accessories and work in teams to use the Pis to solve a problem in a hackathon-style challenge.
This two-day workshop takes place Wednesday, August 24 and Thursday, August 25 (10AM-3PM including lunch break) at Mount Pleasant Village branch.
Ages 13-18.
Agenda
- On Day 1, you will explore digital making with the Raspberry Pi computer: blinking LEDs, taking pictures, creating GUIs, making motors spin, and sensing the environment.
- On Day 2, you'll take what you've learned from the previous day and collaborate with a team to design and build a project to help solve a problem in a hackathon-style challenge.
- Following the workshop, show off your projects to friends and family at the Teen Raspberry Pi Jam showcase on Thursday from 4-5pm.
Materials
All materials will be provided for you to use during the workshop, including Raspberry Pi 4 computers, monitor, SD cards, parts packs and power supplies
