Learn the different steps to making comics with graphic novelist and Brampton native Ricky Lima. Presented in collaboration with the Cultural Services Division at the City of Brampton.

Learn the different steps to making comics with graphic novelist and Brampton native Ricky Lima. Move from one station to the next as you develop a character, world, and story of your own. Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace and focus on the elements they enjoy the most. Presented in collaboration with the Cultural Services Division at the City of Brampton.

Station One: Story / Character - Participants think up the story, character, and world.

Station Two: Design - Participants design the character for their story.

Station Three: Layout - Participants do a rough outline of the panels and layout their comic.

Station Four: Finishing - Complete the artwork, add dialogue, add effects etc.

 

Artist Bio:

Ricky Lima is a graphic novelist and educator from Brampton Ontario. His most recent graphic novel Undergrowth was published September 2024 to positive reviews. He enjoys helping people and writing good stories. Sometimes those two things are the same.
