Talk with the author of the Jay and Gizmo series!

Join us on Family Literacy Day for a visit from Indigenous author, Kristi White and her son River Christie-White, who will perform a hoop dancing demonstration. Kristi will read from her "Jay and Gizmo" picture book series, while emphasizing the importance of storytelling and cultural expression beyond the written word. River will use his talents in the traditional art of hoop dancing to spread awareness about autism and the lack of support for Indigenous children and families with special needs. Together, they will use their creative talent to inspire new forms of literacy.
