JAYU’s iAM: Intro to Photography program invites equity-deserving youth aged 12-29 to share human rights and social justice stories and spread messages through the art of photography.
JAYU, a Toronto-based charity dedicated to sharing human rights stories through art, offers equity-deserving youth aged 12 - 29 free access to photography mentorship at Brampton Library. This six-week session, led by a local artist and two junior mentors who have previously taken the program, gives youth insight into how photography can be used as a tool to tell human rights and social justice stories and spread messages that matter to them. A youth mentor will be invited to share knowledge to help connect youth to employment opportunities. Food is provided at each session. If youth do not have access to a camera to use during the program, one will be provided.
